Hockey Tot 1: Beginner skaters ages 4 thru 6. (4 year olds who cannot skate/march unaided for at least 20 feet should sign up for regular Tot 1 class.) The main focus is to give skater help with balance, confidence and agility. 2 foot glides, marching on 2 skates, forward swizzles forward scooters, inside edge slides, 2 foot jumps, backward wiggles are covered. After passing Hockey Tot 1 register for Hockey Tot 2. Equipment (can rent): Skates, knee pads, gloves/mittens, HECC approved helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey Tot 2: Intermediate skaters ages 4 thru 6. Main focus is on increasing skating skill and agility. 1 foot glides, backwards swizzles, inside edge turns, snow plow stops, forward strides, 2 foot turns, swizzle and crossovers. Basic puck handling after week 5. After passing Hockey Tot 2 you may join Jr. Sharks and/or register for Hockey Tot 3. Equipment (can rent): Skates, shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, HECC approved helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey Tot 3: Advanced skaters ages 4 thru 6. Further development of skating and puck handling, passing and shooting are introduced. Scoot and crossover, backwards swizzles backwards C cuts, forward strides, hockey stops, 2 foot turns with crossover, dribble the puck. After passing Hockey Tot 3 you may join: a) Jr. Sharks, b) Sharks Mite team (if advanced enough), c) Hockey 2. Equipment (can rent): Hockey skates, shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, pants, shoulder pads, HECC approved helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey 1: Beginner skaters ages 6 and up. The main focus is to give skater help with balance, confidence and agility. 2 foot glides, 1 foot glide, marching/striding, forward swizzle forward scooters, 1 foot stops, backwards wiggles. After passing Hockey 1 register for Hockey 2. Equipment (can rent): Skates, knee pads/shin guards, gloves/mittens, HECC approved Helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey 2: Intermediate skaters ages 6 and up. Main focus is on increasing skating skill and agility. 2 foot turns, striding, backwards swizzles, scoot and crossover, inside edge slide, inside edge glide, and backwards C cuts. Basic puck handling is introduced. After passing Hockey 2 you may join the Jr. Sharks and/or register for Hockey 3. Equipment (can rent): Hockey skates, shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, HECC approved helmet w/mask and a hockey stick.

Hockey 3: Advanced skaters ages 6 and up. Hockey stop, crossover start, pivot turns: forwards to backward & backwards to forwards, outside edge turns, weave with puck. After passing Hockey 3 you may join the Sharks house league. Equipment (can rent): Hockey Skates, shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, pants, shoulder pads, HECC approved helmet w/mask and a hockey stick.
